The Broadway Collective National Tour of our 5-Hour Musical Theatre Master Class gives students a transformative experience in learning the tool set that will be required of them to thrive in today's American Musical Theatre. We push singers to dance and dancers to sing – everyone will do it all because that's how we roll on Broadway.
The Master Class
A 5-Hour Musical Theatre Intensive
1
Audition Techniques

From initial cattle call to final callbacks, you will learn to fuel your fear into fire in your belly.

2
Singing

You will learn how to warm up your voice and how to select a great audition song (and nail that 16-bar cut).

3
Dancing

From the classics to contemporary, we will cover a diverse repertoire of original Tony Award-winning choreography from the performers dancing it nightly on Broadway (no "mover combos" here!)

4
Acting

Anyone can sing a high note and get their leg up. The secret sauce is doing it while telling a story. Through monologue, scene study, and audition sides coaching, we deepen your understanding for the basis of why this art form succeeds.

5
Industry Q&A

We will have an unabashedly honest conversation about the business and the journey to New York City (oh and how to sustain when you get here!)

6
Sharecase

At the end of each Master Class, parents are invited back to watch a presentation of what our students have been working on. We don't call this a show – we call this "sharing your new starting point!"

What's included:
The 5-Hour Musical Theatre Master Class // Singing, Dancing, Acting + Audition Techniques

  Industry Q&A

  Official National Tour T-Shirt

The Broadway Collective 16-Bar Arsenal: Our most coveted collection of audition songs + MP3 tracks

Yep – we've been seen in all of those Broadway shows!
It was incredible to see our daughter in a room of kids with way more experience than her and still feel confident enough to put herself out there to learn something. I credit so much of that to the environment Robert and the other instructors create." Nicole
This was unlike any other convention or class she has had. she learned more than I thought possible in this short time. The teachers were energetic and engaging, and of course, talented. Kim

It's so nice to be trained by actual 'working' instructors...instructors that are on Broadway and are currently auditioning as well. Jackie
Robert Hartwell has the most beautiful spirit and drive for wanting to teach and educate the students. He and the other instructors have a current, working perspective that they anxiously want to pass on. This is a jam-packed, energetic, and informative experience. We will be back! June
Eight hours later, we still can't get her out of her dance leotard and The Broadway Collective shirt she bought at the end of class. Bob
This was the best master class my daughter has ever taken! Kathy
The team of teachers were smart, talented, gracious and tough all at the same time. Most of all, they CARE and were generous with their teaching and sharing. The day exceeded my expectations. Julie

They used words like 'when you are living in New York and going to auditions' and 'when you go to a dance call' which made the kids feel that they were really taking their dreams and goals very seriously. Melissa
When your daughter's eyes light up and she immediately says, "I want to do that again", you know it was a hit." Sarah

Letter from Robert

Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for stopping by!

I remember being your age and telling my mom that I wanted to be on Broadway (I was obsessed with musical theatre...and also the CATS soundtrack – I know, no judgements.) The thought of being on Broadway literally sent shivers up my spine. And like me, you’re here because something inside of you craves NYC and the thought of making it on Broadway.

Listen, I can’t put you in a Broadway show, but I can give you an experience of a lifetime that will reshape your narrative and perspective. I can say that wholeheartedly, as we see it happen every chance we get the opportunity to share our Master Class.

I’m not here to make you a better singer, dancer, or actor. I want to make you a better worker. I want to help fuel that passion into equipping you for what Broadway actually requires.

You’re probably scared of doing one of the disciplines we are going to cover in the Master Class – that’s ok! I know you don’t know me yet, but my mom says I’m pretty awesome. I will be right there to encourage you, push you, and root your dreams to reality.

Talk with your parents and get yourself registered today. I promise you that your future self will thank you.

Truly,

Robert Hartwell
Founder

// Currently in Hello, Dolly! on Broadway with Bette Midler

Common Questions

What are the ages for the National Tour Master Class?

7 and up. Students are split into 3 groups (Youth, Teen, and College) and rotated through breakout Master Classes. Each student will work with each Broadway Teaching Artist.

  How much is it?

$349. This includes the 5-Hour Musical Theatre Master Class, an official National Tour t-shirt, and our exclusive 16-Bar Arsenal: our most coveted collection of audition songs + MP3 tracks.

  Are there scholarships?

There are no scholarships for The National Tour. We encourage our students to be active participants in financially making their dreams a reality by fundraising.

The truth is that we find a way to make Disney, iPhones, and Nikes fit in our budget. We must do the same for arts education.

We've gathered 10 Fundraising Ideas for our students to make Gathered NYC a financial possibility! And yes, we've had several students reach their fundraising goals because they made the commitment to overcome circumstance by working a way to make it happen. You got this!

EVERYONE IS WELCOME regardless of studio affiliation or skill level! The Broadway Collective is not affiliated with any of the studios we rent from for our National Tour.

Yes, you can purchase an Observer band for $95. Parents are invited back for the Sharecase from 12pm-1pm free of charge.
