Jumpstart is a chance to...
Dance Act Sing Perform
...and do what you love!
✅ Learn tips from Broadway pros, gain new skills, laugh until your cheeks hurt, and have a blast.
✅ Achieve quick wins and finish the day feeling inspired.
✅ Parents: you’ll love this experience too. Watch your teen’s eyes light up, and see that sparkle, hope, and possibility that (perhaps) you haven’t seen much in the last couple years.
Should you come?
Teens, if:
✔️ You love musical theatre
✔️ You love singing, dancing, acting (or all three)
✔️ You’re obsessed with shows like Hamilton, Hadestown, Wicked, Dear Evan Hansen, and more
✔️ You would love a chance to meet real-life Broadway performers (and learn from them!)
Parents, if:
✔️ You need fresh parenting ideas
✔️ You’ve got questions about theatre as a career for your teen
✔️ You’re in need of meeting other parents with theatre obsessed teens #supportgroup
✔️ You would love a chance to make a game plan for your teen’s wellness and future success
Then you both belong at Jumpstart.

Students learn directly from Broadway pros
while parents have special sessions on supporting their teen artist.

F A Q
Is Jumpstart appropriate for my skill level? Will this experience be too advanced–or too easy?
We welcome musical theatre lovers (ages 12 to 18) of all levels at Jumpstart.
Whether you’ve performed in 50 shows–or you’ve never set foot in a rehearsal studio before–you are welcome here.
There will be challenges for every skill level–and so much joy for all.
Is there anything that students need to do–prior to Jumpstart–to get ready?
Before Jumpstart:
Students, please set up your at-home rehearsal space. This can be your living room, bedroom, garage, patio, attic, or somewhere else. Make sure you have enough space to move around freely and safely.
We encourage students to come to the workshop rested, hydrated, fueled with good food, and ready to dive in!
Is there a dress code? What is the correct attire to wear?
There is an all black dress code for Jumpstart.
Students should wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement. This could be yoga pants and a t-shirt, ballet tights and a leotard, or whatever makes you feel comfortable.
Want to sport Broadway Collective swag? Get yours here.
What happens after the workshop?
This 4-hour workshop will fly by! After Jumpstart, many students will wonder, “Now what? I want to keep going!”
After Jumpstart, we invite students to enroll in The Academy: our musical theatre program which includes dance, voice, and acting masterclasses (all year long), wellness sessions, performances, a graduation celebration in December, and more.
There are two Academy tracks: Virtual (online training) and Hybrid (combination of online training + in-person training in New York City).
No matter where you live, you can work with our award-winning faculty in 2022.
I’m a parent. Is there anything I can do to help my child have a positive experience at Jumpstart?
Before Jumpstart:
Ask your child, “At Jumpstart, what is your main goal? What do you want to learn or experience? How can I help you achieve that goal?” Give your child some time to think about this. Discuss together.
During Jumpstart:
We encourage you to attend the parents-only session on January 23. While your child is busy dancing, acting, and singing, parents–we’ve got activities for you too! A great opportunity for you to meet the Broadway Collective faculty and meet fellow parents.
Money is tight right now in our household. Can I get a discount or scholarship for Jumpstart? I’d really like to come.
We understand that it’s frustrating when you have big dreams–and a small budget. However, there are no discounts or scholarships for Jumpstart.
We encourage students to get creative and be resourceful.
Consider, “How could I earn–or raise–the money I need to attend this workshop?”
In the past, we’ve had Broadway Collective students babysit, walk dogs, mow lawns, do bake sales, organize fundraiser performances, and more.
There is always a way to get the funds that you need. $197 is not an unreachable goal. You can do this. And, you’ll feel so proud once you’ve done it.
I have another question not mentioned here.
Please feel free to email hello at bwaycollective dot com.
